Top 3 Locations For Your Senior/Grad Session In Houston

Senior season is upon us! You might be wondering where to take your senior/grad photos. You’re not sure if there are restrooms, where to park, or where even a specific location you’ve seen might be. As a Houston Photographer who took over 40+ graduation sessions last year in 2021, here are my top 3 locations for your senior photos!

RICE UNIVERSITY

Restrooms: Not Available

Parking: $5-8 visitor parking

Additional Information:

The visitor parking lot will be right next to the photoshoot location (about a 2 minute walk). This is a good location if you believe there’s a chance that it’ll rain because of the building coverings.

I’d recommend going 1-2 hours before sunset for the most flattering lighting.

Since there are no bathrooms available, if you have an outfit change, I do have a portable changing room that you can use.

SABINE BRIDGE & BUFFALO BAYOU PARK

Restrooms: Available

Parking: Free parking (very crowded during weekends)

Additional Information:

Parking lots on weekends are often very full so please come 15-20 minutes early to find available parking.

I’d recommend having your session 30 minutes to an hour before sunset for the best and most flattering lighting conditions.

Lots of different backgrounds and looks for different outfit options (some structural and some areas with nature).

I’d recommend wearing neutral colors and no flashy patterns for this location.

MAIN STREET

Restrooms: Not available

Parking: $5-10 depending on where you park

Additional Information:

Really beautiful location, I’d recommend coming 1-2 hours before sunset.

I’d recommend either parking at Saks Garage or Binz Garage and walking to the location (2-3 minute walk).

I’d also recommend bringing a friend or family member to your shoot since downtown can be dangerous. It’s better to walk together in groups.

Since there are no bathrooms available, if you have an outfit change, I do have a portable changing room that you can use.

Conclusion

Of course there are plenty of other locations that are nice as well. These are just my top 3 favorite locations for senior photos. I tried to include a nice mix of city/nature for those looking for specific vibes.

I hope this was informational for you and help put you one step closer to finding the perfect location for your senior session!
